Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

24. The Trench (1999)

Cillian Murphy Inception

In just his second major film, The Trench, Murphy stars alongside Daniel Craig and Paul Nicholls as a doomed private preparing for the infamous Battle of the Somme, setting in motion his consistency playing soldiers destined to succumb to the harsh realities of war.

Surrounded by disaster, Murphy's role isn't particularly flashy, but it's another early showcase for an actor who's always needed just a moment or two to stand out. This is Craig's movie through and through, but Murphy gives enough to make an impression alongside him.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool.
