Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

21. In Time (2011)

Cillian Murphy Inception
Universal Pictures

In Time boasts an impressive premise - time itself is the world's leading currency - that's ultimately squandered in action, but it does have a riveting Cillian Murphy performance in its midst.

Cast as a conflicted and tired government agent tasked with keeping the economy afloat, Murphy comes closest to capturing In Time's themes of class oppression and fascist complicity. Like stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, though, he too is eventually undercut by the film's overwhelming drabness.

In stops and starts, Murphy shines, but in a film so dull he can only shine so bright.
