Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

18. Sunburn (1999)

Sunburn 1999

The first major film of Murphy's career, filmed when he was just 22, Sunburn is a film you've seen before, but is so warm and well performed you have to forgive its unoriginality.

Cast as a young man who, along with his friends, ventures from Ireland to the States for a summer job, Murphy is laidback and cool, enjoying adulthood in a strange new world whilst pondering what the future holds.

It's nothing new, sure, and its conclusions about growing up are slight, but Murphy - young, cocky, rebellious - is fantastic as a man on the precipice of a new chapter, but living life to the fullest before it arrives. From here, it would all be uphill.
