Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best
26. Red Lights (2012)
In the first half of Red Lights, Murphy works wonders as the partner of Sigourney Weaver's psychologist lead, the pair working together to disprove psychic phenomena. There's a natural, compelling edge to their relationship that ropes you in from the first scene, creating around them a great sense of mystery.
Unfortunately, the film soon loses its way, in the second half becoming too jumbled, too hammy, too much for Murphy to get comfortable with. Unable to contend with the film's twists (and an awkwardly over-the-top Robert De Niro), his performance is left decidedly one-note.
There's a great film in here, but it's juggling far too much to come together for its cast or audience.
