7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Justice League Bright
Warner Bros.

Score: 28%

Critic Consensus: "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice smothers a potentially powerful story -- and some of America's most iconic superheroes -- in a grim whirlwind of effects-driven action."

Speaking of hype trains being derailed, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be one of the biggest letdowns in recent history. BVS was the first live action film to feature both Batman and Superman together, along with the big screen debut of Wonder Woman and various other future Justice League team members.

The film promised a lot, but ultimately was a let down with the titular characters barely coming to blows leading to the title being a major misdirection. Despite an incredible performance from both Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, other actors felt very out of place. The other members of the super team barely made cameos, and instead of focusing on the two titular characters and their battle, the film was more concerned with setting up Justice League.

Jesse Eisenberg feels heavily miscast as Lex Luthor, and the writing feels off at times for both Batman and Superman, with the Man of Steel being really broody and Batman being a cold blooded killer.
