Every DCEU Movie Ranked From Worst To Best (So Far)
4. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
There's no denying the fact that Batman v Superman is a deeply flawed film, failing to deliver on the pretty basic expectations of its title by serving up a mere 7-minute fight between its eponymous superheroes.
If that's not bad enough, the plot machinations bringing Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) into combat with one another are ludicrously convoluted, while Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) never quite makes it 100% clear why he even wants to do it in the first place. It's got something to do with his dad, right?
Other problems are myriad: Batman callously murders people, the trailers gave far too much away, it's bloated out with choppy subplots, the "Martha!" scene is terrible, Superman is a mopey dullard and Doomsday was utter tosh.
But as the effortlessly superior Ultimate Edition of the movie proved, there is an entertaining - if still incredibly messy - film smouldering beneath that shambles of a theatrical release.
The visuals pop, Wonder Woman's introduction is fantastic, and Ben Affleck gives us a killer Batman for the ages. It's just a shame the script can't keep things simple and Warner Bros. couldn't stay out of the editing room.
