Every DCEU Movie Ranked From Worst To Best (So Far)
5. Justice League
Many will contend that Justice League is a better movie than Batman v Superman, but at least BvS had a vision and felt like a movie.
Justice League, meanwhile, resembles nothing more than a soulless commercial product created by a Warner Bros. algorithm to appeal to as broad a cross-section of people as possible.
Obviously, the film's insane production problems did it no favours, but in attempting to take a simpler, more light-hearted tack compared to BvS, Justice League also jettisoned most of the franchise's existing personality.
It didn't help that it's more visually repulsive than any $300 million movie possibly should be, the pacing is a rushed mess and aside from the show-stealing The Flash (Ezra Miller), the newly-minted superheroes don't make much of a dent.
And that's not to forget the appalling digital abomination that was Steppenwolf, duly wasting Ciaran Hinds' talents in the process. As for the likes of Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and J.K. Simmons? They're pretty much non-entities here.
At least there were a few neat crowd-pleasing moments and Jeremy Irons killed it as Alfred, but it's staggering that such a colossal superhero project could feel so forgettable and inconsequential barely a year removed from its release.
