Every Denzel Washington Movie Ranked Worst To Best

The late, great Tony Scott was one of Washington's greatest directors, able to bring out the best of the star in every thriller they worked on. That being said, though, The Taking of Pelham 123 is far from their best collaboration.

Though Washington does commendable work as an out-of-his-depth train dispatcher facing off with a hijacker (an awful John Travolta), and Scott's typically energised direction keeps things afloat nicely, the thriller falls apart as the plot loses its grip.

It's a by-the-numbers thriller if ever there was one, and though it's not a travesty, this is middle-of-the-road Washington all the way.
