Never one to stay stuck in the same genre, Washington released a surprise hit with 2014's The Equalizer, which was a big enough to success to warrant a follow-up.
In the first sequel of his career (a remarkable statistic, when you think about it), Washington brings his usual level of quiet intimidation back into the starring role, selling the film's gutsy action sequences and brutal simplicity.
It never lives up to its predecessor, but as a vengeful tale of kicking ass it sure is a sight to behold.
