Every Denzel Washington Movie Ranked Worst To Best
44. The Preacher's Wife (1996)
One of the more forgettable additions to Washington's oeuvre, The Preacher's Wife casts the actor as an angel sent from Heaven to help a struggling couple (Courtney B. Vance and Whitney Houston) deal with some recent hardships.
Harmless good fun as it may be, the comedy-drama never finds any reason to exist other than to let Houston sing her heart out, and give Washington time to show off how laidback he can be on-screen.
It's not quite terrible, but The Preacher's Wife certainly struggles to leave a lasting impression, or challenge anyone involved.
