5. Wreck-It Ralph

It would be very easy for a film like Wreck-It Ralph to become an over-stuffed mess, full of video game references but light on story and character. Put a veteran of The Simpsons and Futurama at the helm, however, and the stage is set for an arcade-inspired tale which knows exactly when to switch between Easter eggs and the occasional heartwarming moment.

John C. Reilly voices Wreck-It Ralph, the video game villain who decides to prove he's not all that bad and switch roles into a hero. Director Rich Moore plays with the various video game conventions perfectly, parodying everything from Halo and Call Of Duty to Dance Dance Revolution, while cramming in "cameos" from beloved characters including Sonic The Hedgehog and Bowser.

Another huge financial success for Disney, a sequel entitled Ralpn Breaks The Internet is heading to cinemas this autumn, with original cast members to be joined by the voice talents of Gal Gadot and Bill Hader.
