2. The Quantum Realm - Ant-Man

Although everything about Ant-Man pre-release made it look like the MCU's smallest-scale movie (and that's only half-intended as a pun), it wound up being one of its most expansive; after an hour and a half of running through dirt and breaking into a single building, Scott Lang removed his shrinking suit's restrictions and went subatomic, leaving our reality and entering the infinitesimally tiny Quantum Zone.

It was a trippy sequence and one that gave real weight to Lang's journey, but beyond that it also introduced audiences to the idea of other dimensions within or adjacent to our own, something that will provide the backbone of Doctor Strange. The Winter Soldier may have been the first concrete mention of the character, but this was when his powers finally got teased.

This is actually a great show of one of Marvel's biggest strengths. Even before it came out, Kevin Feige had hinted that Ant-Man would carefully seed some of the ideas in Doctor Strange, and while it was with a prominent sequence, the foreshadowing never took away from the events at hand.
