Every Francis Ford Coppola Movie Ranked Worst To Best
21. New York Stories (1989)
New York Stories was a three-part film that Coppola made in partnership with Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen. Each director crafted a segment for the movie, which promised to be a dream team-up but ended up crumbling under the weight of its own ambition.
Coppola's short, Life Without Zoe, follows a precocious girl (Heather McComb) who attempts to bring her estranged parents (Talia Shire and Giancarlo Giannini) back together.
Despite the talent involved, Life Without Zoe is the weakest segment of the trio, an underdeveloped melodrama that isn't fully aware of what it wants to be. Scorsese fared slightly better, but even then New York Stories remains a poor and uninspired collaboration between three great filmmakers.
