Every Guy Ritchie Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Snatch

It would've been so easy for Ritchie to fall victim to the "sophomore slump" with his second feature, as so many hot up-and-coming directors have, yet Snatch very nearly matches the brilliance of his storming debut.

While arguably a little too similar to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch is on its own merits an hilarious, lightning-fast, and brilliantly acted crime romp topped by an unforgettable - yet at times scarcely intelligible - performance from Brad Pitt.

As with most of his films, Ritchie cares less about whether the particulars of the plot make sense, and invests most of his energy in crafting entertainingly larger-than-life characters, of which there are so many in this film.

While lacking Lock, Stock's freshness, Snatch is a more polished and confidently executed follow-up that cemented Ritchie's status as a red-hot rising filmmaker.
