Every Guy Ritchie Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
11. Swept Away
People routinely do crazy things for love, but there's little excusing Ritchie mounting this infamous vanity project for his then-wife Madonna, despite both of them clearly being totally ill-suited to the project.
A stunningly terrible remake of the 1974 Italian rom-com of the same name, Swept Away forgets to be romantic or funny, forcing the audience to spend 90 minutes with two thoroughly detestable characters who implausibly fall in love while stranded on a remote island.
The rightful recipient of five Razzie Awards including Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Actress (Madonna), it's a project completely ill-conceived in every respect.
The central performances are terrible, the script is laughably poor, and even Ritchie's typically slick filmmaking feels anonymous and totally devoid of personality. None of the director's other movies come even close to being this awful.
