Every Guy Ritchie Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

A competent if forgettable sequel to Ritchie's acclaimed Sherlock Holmes reboot, A Game of Shadows does nothing badly, but it's also far too keen to coast on the charms of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, and largely just feels like a warmed-over retread of the first film.

Basically everything people liked about the original is worse here, even the banter between Downey Jr. and Law, while the female characters are brutally underserved at every turn, and despite Jared Harris being perfectly cast as Moriarty, the character as written is a bit of a damp squib.

Even so, it's genuinely surprising that we've gone more than eight years without a third Sherlock film, given its solid critical and commercial success.
