Every Guy Ritchie Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Sherlock Holmes
Back in 2009, Ritchie's hyper-slick reinvention of Sherlock Holmes was such a breath of fresh air, and while hardly a great movie, it got so much right.
Ritchie's flashy style was an inspired fit for the genius detective, and both Downey Jr. and Law were similarly a harmonious match to his devilishly witty dialogue.
Of all the classic IP given sexy contemporary reboots over the last decade-ish, Ritchie's original Sherlock Holmes is one of the few that comes from a genuine place of creativity rather than cynical cash-grabbing.
Between Ritchie's direction, the focal performances, the hilarious wordplay, and the impressive production - especially for a "mere" $90 million budget - the film gets enough right to paper over its sometimes ho-hum narrative.
