Every Halloween Movie Ranked Worst To Best After Halloween Kills
10. Halloween Kills (2021)
Whilst its 2018 predecessor was a massive hit both critically and commercially, Halloween Kills was a deflating flop. With a returning cast and crew (including Green, Curtis and co-writer Danny McBride), it's baffling to see such a dramatic quality drop.
Crafted with none of the care that coloured his previous film, Green's sequel fails to make Michael Myers' inevitable return feel in any way scary or consequential. Instead, he turns up the violence, dispatching firefighters and hapless red shirts with creativity, but none of the terror or emotional weight.
Curtis and on-screen daughter Judy Greer continue to carry the drama with their respective performances, and its action deserves credit for its ingenuity, but that's about it.
Unlike Halloween 2018, Kills never comes together with all its ingredients. Just two films in, and Green's trilogy has already become the very thing it wants us to forget.
