5. Halloween II Concepts

On board for this project originally were Andre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the French filmmakers behind the grisly horror favourite Inside - who were particularly excited to make the move over to Halloween (and Rob Zombie's legacy) when offered the job: "It is an honour for us to do Rob Zombie's sequel because we are fans of his work. Therefore, our vision will be done with utmost respect, with a continuity of his work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place."

Turns out they were a little too invested in the continuity of Zombie's work, since once the studio got wind of Zombie's return to the franchise they dropped the pair like hot rocks to get him back in. Their idea was one that highlighted Michael's time at Smith's Grove, revealing Charles Brackett as the father of Laurie Strode in a time before Zombie's remake, before then catching up and following a somewhat same-y formula to the original Halloween 2.

Bustillo and Maury came up with the insanity of Michael wearing onto Laurie as a concept though, which made it into the final cut.
