23. Octopussy - Octopussy
Like many of these characters, Octopussy (Maud Adams), a crime boss who runs an all-female cult of smugglers, works on some levels but not on others.
On the one hand, she's unlike any other Bond Girl and she's a very interesting, alluring character in many ways. There's an interesting link between her and Bond as well, since he was the one who MI6 sent out to capture Octopussy's father, who was a rogue MI6 agent.
On the other hand, she doesn't actually get that much to do despite the film being named after her and her relationship with Bond doesn't have that much of a spark. Overall, if she'd been played by a better actress than the fairly wooden Maud Adams (who also played Andrea Anders in The Man with the Golden Gun), she'd rank a little higher but she remains a rock-solid lead Bond Girl nonetheless.
