Every James Bond Girl Ranked From Worst To Best
49. Live And Let Die - Rosie Carver
Rosie Carver (Gloria Hendry) was the franchise's first black Bond Girl, so it's a damn shame she was quite such an awful character.
The reason for this is that this inept CIA agent - who's actually a double agent working for Kananga - is one thing and one thing only: a joke. A really bad, painfully unfunny joke.
Even though she's supposed to be a villain, the overwhelming majority of her screen-time is devoted to her humiliating herself again and again; sadly, this is extremely irritating and feels cruel as opposed to being even remotely amusing and also means she never feels like any sort of threat.
Ironically, the one funny part is the character's flippant death scene, but that was due to unintentional hilarity.
And, as is the case with an awful lot of these Bond Girls, many scenes involving Carver are not comfortable to watch now due to the rampant sexism running through pretty much all of the early Bond flicks - especially this particular instalment.
So, due to her incompetence and all the dreadful comedy she's involved in, Rosie Carver is not only one of the worst Bond Girls ever, but one of the worst Bond villains too.
