Every James Bond Girl Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Wai Lin - Tomorrow Never Dies
As mentioned earlier, plans for a Jinx spin-off fell through and this wasn't the first time that happened, for a Wai Lin spin-off was considered but didn't happen. But while the Jinx spin-off wasn't a particularly good idea, a Wai Lin spin-off... would've been fantastic.
Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) is one of the all-time greatest Bond Girls. An ultra-cool, brilliantly charismatic secret agent who's played to perfection by an action movie legend, Wai Lin improves every scene she's in and damn-near steals the film away from Bond himself.
There hasn't been any other Bond Girl who's quite as much of a hard-core bad-ass, but what makes Wai Lin particularly great is that she's not just tough and nothing else (a trap other agent Bond Girl characters such as Pam Bouvier or Jinx fell into). She's also a very likeable and charming character who has a very nice dynamic with Bond.
And she also only has to be rescued by Bond once, at the very end. That is so damn satisfying. Basically, she's a joy to watch and the single greatest thing in Tomorrow Never Dies.
It's a shame that plans for a spin-off and plans for her returning in Die Another Day fell through, but Wai Lin still made a huge impact in her one appearance and has deservedly become one of the franchise's most beloved Bond Girls.
