7. Miranda Frost - Die Another Day

Adolph Gettler James Bond
MGM

The best character in Die Another Day by far, Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike, in her first feature film role ever) is actually pretty awesome.

A calm and relatable MI6 agent one minute and a cold, deliciously evil villain the next, Miranda Frost is very well-played by Rosamund Pike (although Pike was a bit young for the role in hindsight) and in general, she's a fearsome, nasty character who makes every scene she's in tenser and overall better.

As well as this, despite how badly written the film generally is, the twist that she was the one who betrayed Bond (by making it look like he was leaking information to the North Koreans) actually works very well.

She also gets an awesome death scene. When she and Jinx have a sword fight on Gustav Graves' plane, she mockingly says "I can read your every move!" Jinx then stabs her through a copy of 'The Art of War' and yells "Read this... b***h!" Even in the weaker instalments of the franchise, such as this, James Bond films have rarely ever lost their skill at savage villain death scenes.
