4. Boris Grishenko - Goldeneye

Adolph Gettler James Bond
MGM

With this one, you genuinely won't want him to die. Boris Grishenko (Alan Cummings) is more or less the most likeable villain of the entire series.

Played to maniacal, eccentric perfection by Cummings, Boris Grishenko is a hysterically funny presence throughout Goldeneye and his vanity, crude sense of humour and catchphrase "Yes! I am invincible!" are comedy gold.

Of course, he's an appalling individual who betrays his colleagues and his entire country, but he's so funny, eccentric and well-played that it's very difficult not to love him.

He does eventually die and we were all sorry to see him go, but at the very least the writers of the film had the kindness to give him a hilarious and memorable demise.

After the villain's base collapses, Boris is unscathed. He stands up and yells "Yes! I am invincible!" A second later, tanks of liquid nitrogen explode and freeze Boris to death, all while still in his victory pose.
