Every James Bond Henchmen Ranked

5. Dario - Licence To Kill

Adolph Gettler James Bond
MGM

Dario (Benicio Del Toro) is one of the greatest Bond henchmen of all time, as well as one of the most horrible characters Bond has ever come up against. As written, Dario is very nasty and effective, but it's the performance that turns him from a very good henchman into an all-timer.

Benicio Del Toro is completely brilliant as Dario in Licence to Kill. He is under-used, but if you haven't seen the film for a while you'll probably think he was in the movie a lot more than he actually was. Such is the impact of this performance.

Del Toro plays Dario with a chilling and sadistic glee that makes him a terrifying character to watch throughout the film and the depraved acts of violence the character commits off-screen - most notably, the rape and murder of Felix Leiter's new bride, Della - further cement him as one of the most unsettling characters to ever appear in a Bond film.

When he dies at the hands of a cocaine grinding machine, it's genuinely a huge relief.
