Throughout For Your Eyes Only, it is believed that the scuzzy Greek smuggler, Milos Columbo, is the criminal mastermind of the entire story. Late in the film, it's revealed that the heroin dealer and rival of Columbo, Aristotle Kristatos, is the true villain.

Believing Kristatos is an ally to MI6, Bond has absolute trust in Kristatos, which makes the insidious drug dealer all the more efficient at getting rid of his competitors and obtaining a device to activate nuclear submarines.

Although this is a neat twist, it's revealed too late for the actor, Julian Glover, to have much fun with the character. Glover proved in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that he has a talent for depicting charming scumbags so it's a shame he didn't get the opportunity to showcase his acting chops here.
