Every James Bond Main Villain Ranked Worst To Best
5. Francisco Scaramanga - The Man With The Golden Gun
There are very few actors who've never given a bad performance. And despite appearing in over 200 films, British legend, Christopher Lee, has never dropped the ball. Don't get me wrong. He's appeared in absolute garbage plenty of times but that's never stopped him from giving his all.
After making a career for playing villains (and the fact he was friends with Bond author, Ian Fleming) it was no surprise when Lee was cast as Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. The character couldn't be simpler. He's an assassin who, in his own words, "enjoyed killing people". His motivation is overly simple but that doesn't stop Scaramanga from being utterly captivating.
Despite the hitman's three nipples, transforming car, unique weapon, and haunting lair, it's Lee's line-delivery that people remember most. When he informs Bond that his gun holds a single bullet because he "only needs one", you know this is a guy you don't mess with. The film's not great since it relies too much on comedy but every scene with Scaramanga is mesmerising.
