Every James Bond Main Villain Ranked Worst To Best
2. Auric Goldfinger - Goldfinger
The jeweller, Auric Goldfinger, ticks every box when it comes to crafting a masterful Bond villain. He has the coolest death machine (the laser), the most badass henchman (Oddjob), and the best lines, ('No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die.') Also, his scheme to irradiate Fort Knox's gold to skyrocket his stock is genius.
Even though Gert Frobe's voice as the gold-obsessed smuggler was dubbed, his commanding presence helped turn Goldfinger into an icon, not just in the series but of all time. The studio adored Frobe's performance to the extent where they strongly considered bringing the actor back as Goldfinger's twin brother for another film. (Yes, really.)
Unlike the villains of the other Connery entries, Goldfinger doesn't answer to SPECTRE or anyone for that matter. As threatening as Baron Samedi and Red Grant were, villains are never as scary when they answer to another. That's the difference with Goldfinger - he answers to no one.
Also, the other Bond villains should take a leaf out of Goldfinger's book since he breaks the golden rule in the series - he actually tries to kill 007 immediately after he serves his purpose in the iconic laser beam scene.
