Every James Bond Movie Ranked Worst To Best
12. For Your Eyes Only (1981)
Everyone has their opinions about For Your Eyes Only, a movie that opens by quickly killing Blofeld in the most jarring, hilarious way possible, but from thereon in finds its footing to become one of Roger Moore's most grounded and enjoyable adventures.
Wisely dropping the sci-fi extravagance of its predecessor Moonraker, the action flick takes Bond back to basics with a slick, gritty spy thriller that manages to be dark and moody whilst also leaning into Moore's less serious portrayal of 007 himself.
At its core a relatively low-stakes Cold War film about a missile threat, For Your Eyes Only is gorgeously shot with mountainous terrain and sweeping underwater ruins.
The first film to be helmed by the legendary John Glen, Moore's fifth Bond outing serves as a memorable reminder of just how great the actor could be in the role when he got the right material, and how not every 007 film has to have a world-ending threat driving the story forward.
