Every James Bond Villain Ranked Worst To Best

22. Hugo Drax - Moonraker

Renard James Bond
United Artists

This one is a French billionaire with one of the craziest Bond villain plans of them all. He intends to wipe out the population using a virus, while he and a group of selected people remain in space on his space station. Then, he plans to send the selected people back and start humanity anew with a new master race.

Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale) is another villain who could've been great, since his plan is interesting and he does get some good one-liners, but unfortunately he ended up being an epic fail.

A villain with a plan that insane needed to have real presence and energy, but Drax is a painfully boring figure with no charisma or flair whatsoever while the concept of him basically being a Nazi isn't explored at all. As a result, the character falls flat every second he's on-screen. Michael Lonsdale's performance is terrible too and he mumbles his way through the film, dragging this character down even further.

His demise, in which he is ejected out into space through an airlock, is good, but other than that Drax fails on nearly every level.
