Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
21. Chapter 27 (2007)
You have to feel for Jared here - he gained an astonishing 67 pounds to portray John Lennon assassin Mark David Chapman in Chapter 27, yet his dedicated performance aside, Jarrett Schaefer's drama is mostly a bust.
While there's a clear attempt to get into the mind of a widely maligned individual, Chapman remains a fairly elusive figure by film's end, and despite its brief 84-minute runtime it fails to sustain consistent interest throughout.
It's almost worth watching just for the sake of Leto's absurdly over-committed work in the lead role, but Chapter 27 is perhaps the example of an actor whose excessive method efforts were wasted on an aggressively mediocre movie.
