Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Dallas Buyers Club (2013)
While not quite the best film of Leto's career, Dallas Buyers Club gave the actor his most acclaimed and celebrated role to date - a dramatisation of the life of AIDS patient and activist Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey),
Leto plays Rayon, a trans woman afflicted with HIV, and underwent a major transformation for the part, losing 30 pounds, shaving his eyebrows, waxing his entire body, and remaining in character for the entirety of the shoot.
Leto won a well-deserved Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his astonishing performance in a drama directed with enormous compassion and heart by the late, great Jean-Marc Vallée.
While Leto's role would almost certainly be played by an actual trans actress today, accepting it within the time and context it was made, it's a great performance and film regardless.
