Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

5. American Psycho (2000)

Jared Leto Suicide Squad
Lionsgate

American Psycho is the film that categorically put Christian Bale on the map, his performance as psychopathic investment banker Patrick Bateman at once highly disturbing and totally hilarious.

Mary Harron's expertly calibrated adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' controversial black comedy-horror novel is a ludicrously entertaining satire of '80s yuppie life, punctuated by flashes of brutal violence.

Beyond Bale, the entire cast crushes it here - especially Willem Dafoe and Leto as Bateman's infamously ill-fated co-worker Paul Allen. It's a film that executes an extremely impressive tonal balancing act, with the comedy and horror elements co-existing in perfect tandem.

Were the Academy not such snobs, Bale would've received an Oscar nomination for his mesmerising performance - a performance that may or may not have helped him get cast as Batman.
