Every Leonardo DiCaprio Movie Ranked Worst To Best

3. Inception (2011)

Leonardo DiCaprio Shutter Island

Christopher Nolan's intelligent sci-fi hit Inception marked one of DiCaprio's rare trips into blockbuster territory, this time playing a mourning thief called Dom Cobb who's job involves finding sensitive material within people's subconscious.

For all its genuine smarts and thrilling action, it's DiCaprio who anchors the driving drama of Inception. Not only does he make Cobb an endearingly broken man desperate for some kind of peace, but he also proves his mettle as a leading action star, at once tough and determined whilst selling the film's complex themes.

Inception could've easily buried its characters under its trippy concept, but DiCaprio is far too good to be overshadowed by its stunning effects and twists. He brings star power and tragedy to Nolan's masterpiece, and emerges its strongest feature.
