Every Leonardo DiCaprio Movie Ranked Worst To Best

1. Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Leonardo DiCaprio Shutter Island
DreamWorks

If you were to choose a film for someone who'd never seen DiCaprio in action before, you'd have to pick Steven Spielberg's drama Catch Me If You Can, which not only features the actor's finest performance, but perfectly captures every aspect of what makes him such an alluring screen presence.

Still riding high on the acclaim and popularity he received from Titanic, Spielberg's portrait of infamous con artist Frank Abagnale finds DiCaprio in a transition period between teen idol and Serious Actor, and merging both sides of his image into one flawlessly balanced performance.

Aided by Spielberg's thrilling direction, DiCaprio blends Frank's hypnotic charm with his tragic need for attention and light-footed genius. He makes him both a scared child and a man unable to escape the fact he has no place in the world. It's a clever, funny, and sad performance, and is so good, in fact, that he's never quite topped it.
