Every Liam Neeson Action Movie Ranked Worst To Best
14. Taken 3 (2014)
Bryan Mills is the character who gave Neeson his late-career reinvention, but he's nowhere to be found in Taken 3, a dismal threequel in which no one is actually taken, and director Oliver Megaton uses more cuts and edits than almost any mainstream action film you're ever likely to see.
But the choppy editing and indecipherable action isn't the only issue here. No, Taken 3's biggest flaw is how noticeably un-Taken it is. Like the modern Die Hard sequels, it's nothing like its predecessor, but is merely a generic, soulless action flick that just so happens to feature the same actor.
In Taken 3, nothing makes sense, and the stakes have never been lower. Framed for murder, it finds Mills eluding the authorities to prove his innocence. It's an unimaginative affair to say the least, dampened further by stereotypical villains and one too many twists. Neeson limps through the motions, and can't save it.
