Every Liam Neeson Action Movie Ranked Worst To Best
11. Taken 2 (2012)
The first Taken sequel is only marginally better than Taken 3, if only because its attempts to replicate the original with a fresh angle actually payoff with some fun if completely illogical action sequences. This time around, Mills is forced to save himself and his ex-wife from a vengeful crime boss.
Neeson is on mostly good form here, selling the tension with his second go as a desperately protective father thrust once more into danger to save those he loves, though he's not able to overcome Oliver Megaton's frustratingly bonkers editing and illegible fistfights.
The film wins points for having Mills teach his daughter Kim to be the hero with some crafty spy skills over the phone, but this prolonged sequence is the only one that lingers in the mind. Taken 2 is basically Taken but bigger, but as is often the case, bigger is not always better when it comes to moviemaking.
