Every M. Night Shyamalan Movie Ranked Worst To Best

4. Knock At The Cabin (2023)

Signs Mel Gibson
Universal

In his most recent film, Shyamalan tackles the apocalypse and family with such confidence and harrowing results that it's difficult to shake.

Powerfully constructed, brilliantly performed by a rarely-better Dave Bautista, and frighteningly claustrophobic, Knock at the Cabin follows a couple (Jonathan Groff and Andrew Aldridge) and their adopted daughter (Kristen Cui) who must sacrifice a member of their family to avert the end of the world.

Though quite distressing in parts, the moving family centre and philosophical depth of it all more than makes up for its messy last act. It's still flawed, but Knock at the Cabin is still the best and most entertainingly personal Shyamalan has been in over twenty years.
