24. Laufey – Thor

Origin movies are the easiest place to introduce a villain who doesn’t really mean much beyond a link to the past of the characters and that’s true of Laufey from the first Thor movie.

His presence is far less important than Thor’s story and he’s just a bit of a distraction when he appears right at the start of the movie because the real villain doesn’t show himself until later on.

For what he’s asked to do, Colm Feore’s villain is fine, but he’s just a monster who Loki hates and who has a long history of violence with Asgard. He lacks the depth to be much more and that’s basically his point anyway.
