It would've been so incredibly easy for the fourth Jackass movie to be an embarrassing act of nostalgia baiting, where a group of over-the-hill middle-aged men simply can't accept that they're done.

But Jackass Forever turned out to be one of the year's most charming sequels, in large part due to the continued bond between its ageing stars and their camaraderie with a new class of younger numbskulls.

The Jackasses might've cleaned their act up a little, but Jackass Forever nevertheless delivered more penile injury than perhaps any film ever produced, while placing the emphasis on goofball fun and, mercifully, letting the younger guys take the worst hits.

The "Silence of the Lambs" skit is a damn all-timer, and the Academy is full of cowards for ignoring it.
