Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Villain Ranked Worst To Best
32. Malekith - Thor: The Dark World
Plan: To destroy Asgard and use the Aether to transform the universe into a place of eternal darkness, where the Dark Elves would rule.
Status: Smushed to death by his own ship.
Thor: The Dark World really wasn't what it should have been, and rather unfortunately, one of the biggest problems was with the presentation of Christopher Eccleston's Malekith as a glorified Doctor Who monster of the week.
He looked impressive enough and the grand plan for universal dominion under darkness was a significant enough escalation of the events of the first film, but the Dark Elf simply isn't a big enough presence. He speaks very little and his character development is mostly missing - as is all sense of nuance - mostly because of the story's focus on Thor and Loki's relationship.
And as a final insult, they just dropped a spaceship on him.
