Every Marvel Comic Book Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
39. Daredevil
In hindsight, we can probably put this well-publicised disaster down to teething issues for Ben Affleck's time in the comic book movie genre. It was so bad - or at least the backlash was - that Affleck swore off the genre entirely, and it isn't really hard to see why.
Released into the ominous shadow of Sam Raimi's far superior Spider-Man, Mark Steven Johnson's take on the blind avenger was a litany of cliches, under-nourished characters and a crisis of identity suggesting he didn't know what tone to settle on and just chose several.
Oddly, there are stand-out elements - like the acting of Colin Farrell and Michael Clarke Duncan - suggesting there was a better film lost somewhere in the crust (and indeed the director's cut is vastly superior).
