Every Marvel Comic Book Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
33. Fantastic Four (2005)
After wallowing in development hell for a long time, Marvel finally got their Fantastic Four movie thanks to Fox, with a fairly impressive cast of upcomers and apparent sure-things but a ruinous camp tone and some questionable effects work that derailed it entirely.
Chris Evans is great as cocky upstart Johnny Storm and Michael Chiklis does remarkably well to act his way out of a horrible rubber Thing suit, but the rest of the cast range from under-prepared to downright terrible and they aren't helped by an awful script.
Director Tim Story fundamentally imbalances his film, concentrating way too much on exposition and not on excitement and impressive set-pieces, leading to a mind-numbingly boring blockbuster with a frustrating amount of missed potential.
