Every Matt Damon Movie Ranked Worst To Best
43. Promised Land (2012)
Promised Land offers Damon the chance to play someone slimy and unlikeable - a salesman of an oil company who tries to convince a town to let his superiors drill in their neighbourhood.
Charming and smarmy, Damon is top-notch in the role, but despite the film's potential it never really has anything to say. The characters are all bland outside of Damon's Steve Butler, and the conclusion is so lacking in cohesion or meaning that it just ends up frustrating.
