Every MCU Credits Scene Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Spider-Man: Far From Home - Spider-Man Is Exposed
Scene: Just after a date with MJ (Zendaya), Spider-Man sees a live news broadcast. The news website The Daily Bugle, ran by J Jonah Jameson (JK Simmons), shows footage released posthumously by the now-deceased Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), who frames Spider-Man for his murder and publicly reveals his true identity to the world.
Towards the end of the scene, Jonah Jameson says "Here's the real blockbuster" - what a perfect metaphor for this scene. It really is a miniature blockbuster in its own right and one of the very few things you'll remember from this inessential, entirely by-the-numbers sequel.
Not only has it got striking visuals and a brilliant surprise cameo from JK Simmons, who makes an absolutely joyous return to one of his greatest roles, but it concludes with a shocking, "holy s**t" plot twist that completely changes everything from the MCU's Spider-Man.
Furthermore, it directly sets up the superb Spider-Man: No Way Home and that makes an already incredible scene even better.
There is no other MCU credits scene that is this entertaining, this surprising or that sets up the sequel in such a striking, intelligent way, and as such, this masterpiece of a credits scene definitely deserves to be called the best MCU credits scene of all time.
And given the slump the MCU is currently in, that's unlikely to change anytime soon.
