Every MCU Director Ranked Worst To Best

12. Alan Taylor

Thor Ragnarok Taika Waititi
Marvel Studios

Directed:

Thor: The Dark World (2013).

We all know what Alan Taylor is capable of on the small screen; he is a veteran of shows such as Game of Thrones after all. Unfortunately, his temporary move to Hollywood was something of a disaster, with him making a much-loathed Terminator movie and this, the worst MCU film, in the space of three years. Ouch.

Taylor has said subsequently that his original work was butchered by studio interference and that he did not enjoy working with Marvel. He's not alone in that since seemingly everyone hated working on Thor 2. This film's failure is not Taylor's fault but what can be seen of his work on the film isn't great.

Thor 2 is another one of the least interesting MCU films on a visual level and lacks any sort of flair or visual invention. Compared to Taylor's fine work on TV, this feels like the work of an amateur and it's far below his normal standard.
