Every MCU Movie Ranked By Death Count
4. The Avengers - 76, 075
The first big crossover event of the Marvel Cinematic Universe saw the titular heroes come together to fight off the first alien invasion Earth had ever seen. The Chitauri, under the command of Loki, attacked New York, though they were ultimately defeated by Iron Man and a nuclear missile.
The God of Mischief came to Earth through a similar portal, killing 80 people in just two days, and also took the life of Phil Coulson, though he would ultimately be brought back to life by SHIELD. Before the Incident, there were also four of Loki's men killed, and only one of these at the hands of an Avenger. Cap threw one off the helicarrier, while Agent Hill and Director Fury shot down three between them.
When Secretary Ross first introduced the Sokovia Accords to the Avengers, he confirmed that the Battle of New York took the lives of 74 innocent civilians, but what is harder to put a solid figure on is the Chitauri losses.
One Reddit user has combed through the footage and estimated a total Chitauri death count of 961, though this doesn't account for the aliens that were killed when Tony nuked their Command Centre. Though there is no confirmation of exactly how many Chitauri this killed, the internet seems to have settled on the quite ridiculous number of 75,000.
