It's like the Russos knew that the second incarnation of the Avengers was mostly so useless that they just scrapped them and focused back on the core of actually good ones. Okay, so that's a little unfair on War Machine, but he's not been written very well at times, has he?

In Infinity War, we got to see the black ops team of Black Widow, Captain America and Falcon, who turned up in Edinburgh (drawn by the delicious promise of deep fried kebabs no doubt) to make the save when Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight try to kill off Vision.

They come with incredible styling, are powerful enough to beat off two members of the Black Order despite only one of them really being legitimately super-powered (Widow's status remains unconfirmed) and score added points for still being heroes even when they're hunted and driven underground.
