The first two Marvel One-Shots lasted nothing more than a few minutes each, whereas Item 47 was much longer. Directed by Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D'Esposito and passing the ten-minute mark, the third of these short films was a real production and was the biggest achievement so far.
Following on from The Avengers, this short followed a couple who found one of the pieces of alien tech the Chitauri left behind. Though 46 of the 47 artefacts lay dormant, Bennie somehow got this one to work, so naturally he and his girlfriend used it for a spree of robberies.
Agent Sitwell again was involved, as he was tasked with tracking them down. Though they fought and nearly killed each other, since Bennie had succeeded in fixing the weapon where S.H.I.E.L.D. had failed, he was offered a job.
Watching it back now, this essentially feels like a short episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In reality, this actually premiered before the release of Agent Coulson’s spin-off, and was reportedly one of the biggest reasons the show was even greenlit at all.
