With Team Thor Part II came just a continuation of everything that was so great about the first short. Thor was trying to fill his time in Australia by talking to kids about gruesome battles or arguing with Darryl about the rent, but really he just wanted a phone call.

Still bitter about being left out of the civil war, despite not actually having a phone, Thor sought comfort with his new roommate, who wasn’t quite as thrilled about their friendship as the God of Thunder was himself.

Part II focused more on Darryl, and the effect that living with this new version of Thor was having on him. He had to clean up broken Connect 4 and try to coax some real rent money out of the Asgardian Prince, and be lectured about how Thor was covered head to toe in brains.

Again, this was just there to build the excitement for Ragnarok, and in just another four minutes Taika Waititi encapsulated everything that was to be so brilliant about his take on the character.
